Side effects. Nowadays they have high efficacy and few adverse consequences, but can cause:

- Menstrual irregularities. The period of bleeding may be delayed or brought forward, as well as more intense or weak.

- Weight change. Usually increases.
- Mood change. The woman is irritable.
- Acne. Presence of pimples and blackheads as a result of hormonal changes.

Contraindications

- Pregnancy and lactation. Its use in these stages is strictly forbidden, even when pregnancy is suspected.
- Breast cancer. Is the presence of a malignant tumor in one breast. When this problem is ongoing, hormones can stimulate abnormal or cancerous cells.
- Liver problems. Hepatitis or liver tumor are conditions that can worsen with these hormones.
- Smoking. Women who smoke more than 20 cigarettes a day (a pack) may be more prone to cancer.
