Energy drinks, are they healthy?
While many people are aware of the caffeine content, which have so-called Energy Drinks, few know of their hidden ingredients that when combined with alcohol, can have serious consequences.
Although energy drinks are very popular and can be purchased almost anywhere, as the corner market or markets and the mega gyms, researchers suggest caution on the consumption of these so-called health drinks.
What is known is that a typical energy drink can have as much sugar as a quarter cup and more caffeine than a cup of coffee, say researchers from the University of Texas Medical School at Houston.
To take into account the caffeine content ranges are 70 to 200 mg per 16 ounces (473 ml), that to have a comparison, an 8-ounce cup of coffee can contain between 40 mg and 150 mg depending on how to prepare.
