Tooth Whitening

What is tooth whitening?

It is a process that lightens the discoloration of enamel and dentin using a solution of carbamide peroxide.

* you wear your splint during sleep six to seven hours each night for 10 nights
* or 2 hours a day with a more concentrated product, but more difficult to use. Your doctor will choose the most appropriate concentration for your teeth.

3. The third meeting will take place at the end of the first week and will aim to monitor the progress of treatment. It will either be arrested or extended by a week.

The best results are obtained on the teeth slightly tinted. The dark stains, such as those caused by antibiotics, will more time to respond to treatment. The degree of explanation varies from one patient to another, depending on the life of the system.

It is also possible in extreme cases, to conduct an initial meeting to clarify the chair, followed the traditional outpatient treatment.

Can there be any side effects?

During treatment, you may experience sensitivities. This is absolutely not dangerous. Just stop treatment for 2 or 3 days. If sensitivities are important, there is a fluoride gel to be alternating with the whitening gel.

Various studies show that the techniques of bleaching, when the protocol was followed, pose no risk.

The results are durable. Your teeth will always be whiter than they were before. Some patients will need periodic reminders of one or two nights, 6 to 12 months after initial treatment.
